1996.
Almost the entire U.S. globe artichoke crop is produced in California. In 1997 artichokes were grown on 9,100 acres. Total production of artichokes amounted to 865,000 cwt in California in 1997 (yield = 95 cwt/acre), with a total value of $67,620,000.
