Oregon CropMAPUmpqua River Valley Vegetable CropsPrepared by Dr. N.S. Bill Mansour, Extension SpecialistVegetable Crops, Department of Horticulture, Oregon State University, © 1999. This is a list of vegetable crops that are either currently grown, are recommended alternate crops, are experimental crops, or are not recommended for the Umpqua River Valley. The Umpqua River Valley is in Douglas county as indicated on the map at right. The Umpqua River Valley is suitable for the production of cool and warm season crops. It is unique in that the numerous isolated parcels of land lend themselves to the production of a variety of vegetable seed and specialty crops such as culinary and medicinal herbs.
