Eggplant - Fruit

Eggplant is grown for its fruit which usually has a glossy, dark purple skin. The most common cultivars have a distinctive elongated broad oval shape, gently curving to a wider bottom.

Other types of eggplant can be long and narrow or small and egg-shaped, and may be white, green, yellow, or striped.
